‘Earth Day’ Observed at GD Goenka Public School Lucknow:-

‘Earth Day’ is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. This day was celebrated in GD Goenka Public School on 22nd April 2022.
To sensitise the children towards taking care of our planet and to make them aware about the conservation of energy, the school turned off the electricity for 3 minutes as a gesture to show care for mother earth.

The day was planned with attractive activities for kids where the students of Pre Nursery and Nursery did balloon printing in two colours: blue and green. They imprinted the balloon on a sun sheet, which similarly looked like our Earth. It was then cut in the shape of a medal and ‘HAPPY EARTH DAY’ was written on it. Students proudly wore that medal. Students of K.G., Grade I and Grade II made beautiful and useful crafts out of cereal boxes. Much emphasis was laid on re-using the waste materials.

Grade K.G. made creative tea coasters and decorated them. Grade I made beautiful bookmarks and promised their teachers that they will use it while reading their storybooks. Grade II made interesting jigsaw puzzles out of the cereal boxes and then exchanged with their friends and solved it as a team. Videos on reduce; reuse and recycle were shown to the children. Teachers made them aware about the different ways to keep our earth a healthy and safe place to live for us and also for the future generations.
