no more samples. yes it sounds better here but why not just get your snare to have some more spring rattle on the bottom .. maybe loosen the bottom head a pinch.. throw in a bottom mic.. once you dial it up right, you can get the exact same or BETTER sound without a sample.. then it will also pickup every stick articulation you can throw at it as well... search and replace doesn't really work too well with advanced playing techniques, they work well with single hits which can be quantized.
