Sounds kinda like Harlequins Moon, which is a novel with the exact same setup (generation ship that breaks down partway through) also by Larry Niven, except the novel is about the process of terraforming the planet they landed on rather than figuring out who was on it before. I never finished it, though, it got lost while I was moving :(

Sounds like Ringworld but different. Thatâs cool, tho. Ringworld was baller as fuck. (The first two, anyways⌠it kinda went off the rails after that, IMO)
