The amount of people that don't know negligence is illegal in almost every shape or form is crazy. You get charged for child, medical, safety, etc... negligence. It's not different for this kind of negligence. There are some factors like inability to help (a disability or a risk that YOU might endanger yourself if you help, your own safety is always the priority) or if you went looking for help like a defibrillator or an ambulance, etc... If you see someone CLEARLY in distress and something happens to them and you didn't even CALL the police/medical assistance you are partly responsible.

I'm surprised people don't know that it's a crime to see someone in a terrible mental state and do nothing about it. We live in a society, we are responsible for each other.
If you see that someone's going to drive under influence and do nothing and something happens, you're responsible. If someone unalive themselves because of bullying and you did nothing to help them, you are responsible. If a man hits his wife everyday and neighbors do nothing, they're all responsible.
Negligence is a thing. You may think that I'm exaggerating, until it happens to you or to your loved ones. Then, you'll think "Why didn't anyone do anything to help? How did people let this happen?"

No one is responsible for anyone, yes there are people nice enough to take care of you after you’ve made terrible choices to get to a state where you cannot take care of yourself, but no one is at blame for what happens after, ultimately you made poor choices because of your state. I guess there is a moral sense to make sure someone is ok but there is only so much you can do when it comes to people you don’t know, because I’m sure this guy was not really a friend.

But I’m glad to see the authorities in in South America taking it seriously, but they need to take things like this seriously all the time and they don’t. Maybe this will give them a wake up call when this happened if this happens to a person that’s not a celebrity as well, but I’m glad to hear they arrested three people now the questioning must start.

Wait why would someone get arrested for leaving someone before their death. It doesn’t make sense to me cuz what if they had nothing to do with it
