Many older stadiums have areas known as Kops, such as Windsor Park. Before the 1990s, these sections were packed with fans, standing rather than sitting, often shifting sides to follow the team's action during each half. The Dutch club, De Graafschap, has a stand inspired by the Spion Kop, but theyāve given it a local twist, naming it "Spinnekop," which, when translated, means "spiderhead."

Yes, it's the Afrikaans (and Dutch) word for a "head" or a hill. A small hill is a "koppie" ("Kopje" in Dutch. Not that they have many in the Netherlands...)
But you're missing the point about Spioen Kop. ("Spy's Head"/"Lookout Head") It was a major defeat with significant casualties for the British Army in the 2nd Anglo-Boer War ā kind of like Antietam in the US Civil War. It was also the biggest defeat in "Black Week" (when the British Army were heavily defeated several times by the Boers.)
BTW, I live in South Africa. My great-granddad fought in the South Staffordshire Regt in the 2nd Anglo-Boer and WWI. He was involved in the relief of Ladysmith, which is located near Spioen Kop. A great-great-great uncle was General Sir George Pomeroy Colley, who led the British army in the 1st Anglo Boer War and who was killed in the defeat at the Battle of Majuba. And my grandfather, another George Colley, played football and was a youth coach for West Brom and Aston Villa in the 1930s.
Besides the Kop end at Anfield, there are also Kops at my beloved Birmingham City, Leicester City, Derby County's Baseball Ground, Coventry City's Highfield Road, Tranmere (also in Merseyside, like Anfield), both Sheffield Utd and Wednesday, Chesterfield, Windsor Park (as someone pointed out in Northern Ireland), and NEC Breda in the Netherlands and, historically, PSG in France.

Fun fact: 'kop' also translates to 'head', so you'd be standing at the head of the stands
