Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs (room temperature)
2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
5. Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
6. Fill the Liners: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
7. Bake: Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Cool: Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:
½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp milk
1. Beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Mix until fluffy and smooth.
2. Pipe or spread the frosting onto cooled cupcakes.
