Oof. 💯 and hard to do. I continue to try to work on those healthy boundaries. I beat myself up all the time. Others, often don't take those responsibilities and own their part. It's aggravating

Boundaries are a downstream band-aid when both parties don't have shared moral values that they live by. Unfortunately, it's taboo in today's society to strike at the root of this issue, so the best therapy has as a substitute is promotion of boundaries as a poor proxy for living true to shared moral values.

This is a difficult subject for me to comprehend bc I did not like the outcome. I had a bff for 15 years. I finally set the boundaries that I would prefer to speak to her in person once a month. We spoke to each other on the phone weekly complaining about life. But it was her who took over the conversation and complained everything. Rarely did I hear good things.
On tragic situations of course
I was there for her for everything.
But when I set the boundaries bc I too was going thru a lot and needed my energy for me, she did not like it.
She definitely ghosted me.
My other close friend said, “You never what goes on peoples head when they’re depress.”
I am angry, sad, and miss her a lot. It’s been over a year since she decided to disappear in my life.
