to anyone complaining about someone else's difficulty settings: calm down, nobody is entitled to control another persons gaming experience. if you dont like it, i dont know, go learn CPR and feel superior about being able to save people, not about video game accomplishments that someone else might skip past.

I mean nms isn't that challenging of a game to begin with. To make it even easier sounds boring ti me but hey it's there for those that want it.

It actually is making me consider giving nms a try again. I don't have time for the more tedious aspects of the game, since I'll have more control and be able to skip the more mindlessly Grindy parts of the game I might actually be able to enjoy exploring now, which is the focus.its a great thing.

I couldn't agree more! The backlash for us just getting more options to play how we want to play is baffling. I love that the game I bought and play gives me the flexibility to play it how I would like to. I wish more games did this.

Alright, this one's quick and easy:

Before this menu, the game was mind-numbingly easy in almost every way. This menu adds the ability to create a challenge for almost every aspect of the game

Always wanted to play Survival with Standard's Death Penalty. Now I can.

Other survival games only have customisable settings on dedicated servers only. Official survival game servers never have customisable settings because that way, everyone had to work through the same efforts to get to the same points. Customisable game settings just don't have a place in an MMO game or any official online multiplayer server. If you want a customisable game, one should play offline games.

Isn't the removal of challenge the actual point of an easy mode? People can play and enjoy games how they choose.

This is truly the definition of the freedom of playing the way you want, I'm loving the ability to make certain things difficult/easy, Elite/SC needs to learn from this.

I hoped this was an option in Elite, the grinding is so time consuming.

I think it should group the ā€œpermadeathā€ players in their own place, for sure. Simply because they need to be on equal footing with everyone so balance is maintained, and that is the only mode that ā€œcompetitiveā€ people should be playing anyway. That said if you can die while playing and respawn , no matter how unlikely, it doesnā€™t matter, and you should be grouped together. They should give people the option to exclude creative , and only include other players that have exclude creative, so there arenā€™t any of the problems that GTA and Generation 0 has, high level players joining and giving you endgame gear.
At best, give people the choice for each group to include in their matchmaking so they have that option, options are good.

the purpose of space games is to explore. How you want to explore is up to you. so yeah, why would it matter. If you want to explore, survive, etc., but need to taylor it to your playstyle, than you can.

I never understood why others want to force others to play a game exactly the way they play a game. it's silly and wrong.

I donā€™t see competition except in who hast the best looking ship, all other things are either pure sandbox or story.

I may actually enjoy the game now.

Players of competitive videogames sometimes have problems adjusting to noncompetitive ones. Some try to think of everything as some sort of PvP and get irritated when they discover that the game isn't really any sort of competitive experience where they can't easily measure their achievements and compare it to the ones of others. Not everything needs to be a competition.

I haven't played the game almost for 3 years now, but I never find it difficult. I found extremely annoying that you couldn't get rid of mechanical enemies once they targeted you, and respawned constantly till you flew away, really really far away. Other than that, the game was never a difficult challenge to me. It was just fun. I don't know how the game is nowadays, but an easy mode seems a bit strange to me due to my experience.
And I am not Grey Still Plays, if something is extremely difficult, I lose the interest.

You play as a character that comes to know that he occupies a virtual world

There is so many ways to exploit the system even in the hardest difficulty anyways

People who are stressing about the new menu must be totally unaware it's extremely easy to spawn whatever you need straight into your inventory and has been for years. If they have been measuring themselves against other players they have been fooling themselves that everyone has been playing the hard way.
