Well, I want to talk about that 100 loc per day thing. For comparison, you could be coding 100 lines of custom serializers or 100 lines of unit tests, 100 lines of Android NDK surface 3d drawing or 100 lines of a compose preview screen, etc. Sometimes 100 lines in a day of work is actually fine

I myself work for a faang company and I wrote at least 2000-5000 lines per work week. But the pressure is huge.

no wonder they can dismiss thousands of people easily - responsibilities are tiny. Some time ago I interviewed a guy who worked in game industry, he failed interview because we want people who can build app on their own. The candidate had 10 years of experience and last 7 years he was working on data protocol library for games. I believe I would fail his interview for data structures, but he failed simple questions like Activity Lifecycle :)

This is mostly untrue, you can work on large or small things at fang companies. There is generally lots of opportunity to write tons of code.
