Just take the paper and put it on the switch. Press with fingers on the holes to make transfer the shape on the paper. No need for micron precission. Tape also vork. Sometime I use cable and mark the distance betwen holes with a pen, then I put the cable on the wall to mark the holes Done :)

You can just take a piece of paper or a tape and place it on the back of the device, use a pen to mark the spots and then place it against the wall. It will be a flipped image but it doesn't matter.
