Playing Power Stone for the first time then Soul Caliber it blew my mind. The generational leap from ps1 to Dreamcast was phenomenal.

People don’t understand what was it like to see Sonic Adventure back in 1999. It was light years ahead of anything on the market because it was still dominated by PS1 and N64’s aging hardware and there wasn’t anything like it on them. Crisp, fluid bright graphics that Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot games were lacking

The Dreamcast was such an awesome console.
GTAIII on PS2 felt like a gaming revolution at the time

I remember getting a demo disc when I got a PS1. It blew my mind. I was impressed with Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, Medievil, Tomb Raider III, Spyro the Dragon, Brave Fencer Mushashi, Metal Gear Solid, Cool Boarders 3, Grand Turismo, etc. I went from playing the SNES and Game Boy to the PS1 which was such a leap.

Oh god... I am 50. So I remember playing ATARI 2600. Even then graphics gameplay wasn't anything special. Then OG Nintendo cameout in the US in 1985 and that was big! Major difference in the games started the path today. Majority of gamers today were never ever able to experience that.

The Generator Volume 1 is one the best demo disc made for any system. Sonic Adventure, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Dead or Alive 2, Rayman 2, Legacy of Kain. There was so much value from everything for the holiday season and beyond. I played hours

The ps2 to ps3 jump was probably the last exciting graphical leap, i remember playing these physics based games that not only looked amazing but also truly translated the feeling of impact and collision.

I’d say the last mind blowing jump was the 360/PS3 era. Afterwards it just felt incremental. But I do remember being absolutely flabbergasted by the Dreamcast and PS2 era. It was by far the biggest leap. Especially coming from a PS1 (unfortunately didn’t have an N64)

My roomie got a Dreamcast in 2000, and one of the games he got was Soul Calibur. That game totally changed what I thought about gaming, and Gaming at home. It looked better than the arcade. Later I played SC at the arcade and the Dreamcast version WAS better.

PS1 to PS2 was a significant jump in graphics , and PS2 to PS3 .

PSP playing all Christmas break as a kid was the best. Heaven would be reliving that feeling of putting in the new UMDs for Little Big Planet, Midnight Club 3, and Hotshots Golf just spending hours with my brother's having fun 🥲

I miss demo disks especially the PS1 demos when you could find hidden codes on the back that you would press to lead you to more either hidden demos or upcoming game trailers.

For me Nintendo 64, the PS2 ,Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube. Definitely had games that amazed me still have games that still stood the test of time. I must say I love my Nintendo 64.

PS3 on my 2006 Samsung HDTV still looks incredible to this day. I think there are some early games on PS3 that look like they could have been made in the past 5 years in terms of fidelity, especially without the poor scaling of a newer TV.

Still have mine. Played through that level of Sonic and Fur Fighters way too many times.

N64 to GameCube was the biggest leap. Playing Star Wars Rogue Squadron was my best memory

The last true generational jump was from PS2/Xbox to PS360. That was the last time one could point at the screen and say, "That looks big better."
