Idle too high is probably the MOST common cause of this, but those ms170/180s dont come with the best clutch either. They ARE good little saws if you take care of them like this guy ✌️

Changed springs just recently. Life is good again

Springs can change mechanically over time. They'll no longer be able to overcome the centrifugal force at the correct idle speed. New springs make all the difference.

You should have your chain brake on until you are ready to cut

Never mind the use of an impact to get the clutch off. Definitely not Stihl recommended.

At proper idle the chain will do that. Ppl.are really stupid and should not run chainsaws
