It’s just me and I don’t like unexpected company for this reason lol … but I like to be super clean. My aunt has told me many times how OCD she was before having kids and it mellowed her out in all the good ways!

As a kid I was expected to clean behind me and so were all of my friends. House were clean, our rooms could get messy but never dirty.

My friend has a sign on her wall that says " if your here to see us, welcome! If your here to see my house, make an appointment!" Lol ( i wish people were more honest about this when i was raising kids! I was unreal suicidal for years because of my inability to keep my house clean! It needs to be more normalized!)

Have 4 at home. I need 48 lol. It’s never disgusting/unlivable/unhealthy. Just completely ran through from kiddos in every direction pulling double out for every single thing put back etc. 😅 and I do in fact work all day to clean 😅

I think anyone living comfortably needs 24hrs to tidy for guests tbh. My fiancé and I don’t have kids yet but we are certainly in a season of life where our newish home is constantly under some kind of project and things either have no home yet or need new places to go 😅🤣 adulting is hard and a home magazine house is unrealist

100% agree i have 3 as well and 1 is 18. Its mostly my 9 year old son. My house was never this messy before we had him. So thankful for him but boy is he messy. The girls too so I definitely need a heads up before you come over. My husband acts like its only our house since when ever we go anywhere its clean. I guarantee before we go over they are running around cleaning as well. There is a difference between messy and dirty. One day my house will be empty and clean. That will be a sad day.

Unless you have a housekeeper AND a nanny (at that point why have kids, your not raising them the nanny is) your house will look like a tornado only hit the inside. My house is very much lived in 😂

Yes Iv had 5 and my husband and I don’t just let people stop over anymore lol we need 48 hr notch and for a party for my kids t my house I need a week to get it all together lol

It's nice to hear that I'm not alone in that. I constantly struggle with housekeeping, and it causes more anxiety. I have OCD, which can also come with perfectionism...making it HARD on me. A room that would take someone without OCD maybe 15 minutes to clean, it'll take me 5 times that. 😣 We are a family of 5, so messes are constant. Not nasty, just messy. Lol!
