Learning the comments were gone on Crunchyroll was depressing, you perfectly encapsulated some of the reasons why. It was also fantastic when fellow commenters educated us on Japanese tradition and how a seemingly meaningless detail added to a certain scene when viewed under a cultural lense.

When I was watching Sk8 the infinity and other silly/fun anime it was always fun to scroll down and see how folks were fangirling about different characters and laughing about silly moments was amazing. š Yet when those really heartbreaking moments happened then everyone would fall apart in the comments too

Damn it reminds me of aniwave, he died as a warrior and now I don't have any good website to watch anime for free with a library as big as aniwave (12k+ animes), and that comment section with a guy who used to give medal to the first one to comment, and that guy with profile picture of you ishigami from kaguya sama love is war pulling us back into reality that nothing like this could happen irl and he kept telling us life is war. Shit I miss those days so much, watching anime in aniwave after coming home from school and then after every episode scrolling through the comment section. Nostalgic (even though it hasn't even been 1 year since the website was closed)

Crunchyroll is literally impossible to use for free. 4 ads every 5 minutes, and there isnāt a single anime outside of the absolute tippity-tip-top popular ones that are free for every episode. The first three episodes are free, but then after that? Premium. Like, just make the whole thing premium. Donāt give me a taste of the anime, but not everything. And it applies to almost every single one on the entire platform. This is why Iām an exclusive pirate, through and through.

Man this is why I like to kiss anime. The comments were some of the most unhinged and funniest shit I ever read. I remember on an episode of ice queendom someone had wrote āif Weiss is the queen whoās she domming? Are we gonna see ruby at some point in a latex outfit with the Weiss emblem on itā and it was so funny to me having loved the series since Monty Oum was alive.
