I have a 2001 7.3L that leaks a little oil too. It's an old truck and oil is cheap, just add a quart now and then when needed. It still runs strong. Great motor!

Make sure you use the right gasket for the HPOP reservoir or youâll be replacing that timing cover. I had to learn the hard way but since it was the only gasket in OâReillyâs system they paid for all the parts I needed to replace the timing cover.

I think I might have had the only 7.3 ever to have a rear main seal leak. That motor also had a cracked rear motor plate. It got Injectors, high pressure oil pump, turbo. It leaked about a gallon of oil every 1000 miles. Saw it on marketplace about a year ago. It's still leaking oil and running like a champ, 70,000 miles later.

I had oil leak out of the hoses right on top bought anew pair and fixed it

An old boss of mine would get pissed when someone said that their rear main was leaking. 90% of the time it wasnât the rear main. As he always said, âshit runs downhillâ.
