The count of robberies doesn't tell us a lot. You have to weight the count by something like capita or square foot of land. I'm sure Texas would not be on the top of the list then. Also, why just look at robberies. Why not look at murders, car theft, or another random crime?
Just because the statistic is true doesn't mean it tells you very much about the living conditions in a certain state.

Hillbilly is Gaelic for brothers of the hills.. rural white Texans are mostly descended from German and White Mexican settlers. The phrase hillbilly is considered very offensive if it's not used buy someone from a Celtic ethnic and cultural background from the Appalachian mountains. Usually someone descended from those were deported to the Appalachian mountains from the Scottish Highlands during the highland clearances ethnic cleansing campaign in the 18th century.
