જૂનાગઢ મા આવેલ ભવનાથ મંદિર થી પુરાણું આ વસ્ત્રપથેશ્વર મહાદેવ નું મંદિર બધા જૂનાગઢ વસી ઓએ જોયું હસે પરંતુ તેનો ઇતિહસ ખૂબ ઓછા લોકો જાણે છે માનવા મા આવે છે કે જ્યારે મહાદેવ અને પાર્વતી જી વિહાર માટે નિકડા હતા ત્યારે માતા પાર્વતી ના વસ્ત્ર ઉડી ગયા હતા ત્યારે માતા પાર્વતી જી ના લજા વસ્ત્ર પૃથ્વી પર ના પડે તેથી ભગવાન શિવજી સ્વયમ પૃથ્વી પર બેસી ગયા અને માતા પાર્વતી જી ના વસ્ત્ર શિવજી પર પથરાય ગયા જેના કારણે આ મહાદેવ ને વસ્ત્રપથેશ્વર મહાદેવ કહેવા માં આવે છે ઇતિહાસ અનુસાર આ વસ્ત્રપથેશ્વર મહાદેવ જુનાગઢ ના સાવ થી જૂના મંદિરો મનું એક મંદિર ગણવા માં આવે છે.
