I remember when that happened to Miss Zephyr. She was the one who had to use a table in the hall as a desk after being censured. So she kept doing her work in the hall while these old, retired, hog-hags would sit on the benches all day to force her to stand all day and mocked her. I remember she kept a stiff upper lip and continued to fulfill the duties she was elected to do. Shes a total badass

Even as a cis gay dude I would have gotten nervous as hell when that truck rolled up. One of the worst gay bashings I endured happened in the small town I'm from in GA. By dudes who drove big trucks.

Ever notice that is after people started to come out of the closet that acceptance of gay folks started to increase? I did. It took real courage when peopke were going to jail, getting beaten and fired because if their sexual preference. Now, sexual preference is covered by the Civil Rights Act. We need more brave trans folks, we need the families if trans folks to tell the world about how much they love them. It would help a lot to debunk the many lies told about trans folks and the trans journey.

This is great clip from your livestream, and an amazing story. Sometimes people are genuine, kind, respectful, and honest. The interaction described in the story happens fairly often I think, it just doesn't get reported. Unfortunately, people being nice to each other isn't headline news.

Had this happen to me at a bar i was sitting at a table and some construction workers came by after a job for a drink and tried their luck on the slots that were right behind we had a nice conversation which then went political and he pretty much said the same thing "im a republican and its terrible what they're doing and i would have protested it too (there was a recent trans rights protest) if i wasn't busy with work and i regret wanting to vote for trump back in 2016" (wanting because we're canadian but he said he's talked with a few American construction workers that thought the samething)

Context to the bench thing: Zoey was forced out of state chambers for some arbitrary reason and relegated to doing her work on a bench just outside the chamber. Then catty Republican reps very deliberately started sitting in that bench to prevent her from using it.
