This was our most expensive month ever 😮‍💨

At the start of November we took our van to Europe for the next 6 months - we’re planning to be mostly based on the continent from now on and only return to the UK a couple of months a year, which took a lot of planning and prep! Our biggest one-off expense was all the paperwork to get our dog Heidi over to Europe - the rabies shot was £100, the animal health certificate (which you have to get since Brexit) another £100, and once we were in Europe we had to get her pet passport for £60 and a blood test (to prove she has rabies antibodies) for another £100. The good thing is that all of these are a one-off expense - the pet passport allows us to travel anywhere in Europe for Heidi’s lifetime and the blood test means we can travel in non-Schengen countries too! 🐶

And to be honest, once we were in Europe we did treat ourselves a little bit to the nice food, and I went thrifting with a friend while we were in Germany. The next couple of months will need to be a little bit more economical, but because we’ll be in cheap countries like Italy and Greece, we think that shouldn’t be a problem 🤞
