Was never actually āforbiddenā. Thatās one of the enduring myths of musicology. Also, itās present in every dominant 7 chord (a key element of classical functional harmony since at least the baroque, as well as being a defining stylistic element of the blues and every genre derived from it), so is not exactly remarkable or rare in popular music. Youād have a harder time finding a rock song WITHOUT the tritone in it than finding one with it.

I was gifted a book as an 8 year old that attempted to explain the ādemonic natureā of the tri-tone and rock music and the guitar in general. Naturally, I then picked up the guitar and got into rock music when I was 11 or 12.

It's in every dom 7th chord. It's the secret sauce of early rock n roll. Why they burned those records! I noticed over the past decade, a lot of modern songwriters avoid Dom 7ths. My theory is that people dont want any more tension in their lives. š
