The loss of so many fish is so upsetting though, I'm shocked that there were only 2 people injured. It feels like something like this could have been far worse if it happened during visiting hours.

That's heart breaking. Reminds me of the 8 goldfishes my dad had for 8 years that Grew to 4 inches long n he put them in a beautiful pond in a rec center for later someone to throw a cigarette butt in and poisoned all the fishes in the pond.💔

Such a beautiful aquarium, and all those poor fish... Thankfully, at least some of the fish were saved, so not all 1500 perished (I don't think the report I read mentioned exact numbers).

yep it's crazy! it had just been renewed during the pandemic and reopened this summer and somehow because of the cold or weak material it all came crashing down.

The first theory about the cause has to do with the much colder than usual weather that caused a crack in the glass.

R.I.P to all of the fishes and hopefully the people who are injured aren't to badly hurt and they get well soon.

They did manage to save some of the fish that were in the lower part of the tank. It was reported at first they all died though. Even our news in the Netherlands was like 'There were 1500 fish. They're all dead now.'
I was like damn I hope nobody has children in the room listening to this..

I saw notre dame cathedral like two weeks before the fire, the feeling is probably similar, but less than 24 hours is crazy.
