🪔 Diwali is one of the most beloved celebrations of people in India.
It is a festival which brings families together ❤️ in the remembrance of different pastimes of Lord Krishna and His various incarnations.

Deepa means light. Significance is coming out of darkness of ignorance and learning about the Truth.

One of the reasons celebrating Diwali is Holy Kartika months or known as Damodara month. In this month Vaishnavas remember Damodar Lila - binding of little Krishna with the ropes of Mother Yasoda.

We offer auspices ghee lamp to every limb of Lord Damodar - Krishna and sing Damodarashtakam to attract His attention to us - insignificant tiny souls. And pray for His mercy upon us. 🙏

...this month is so powerful that one day a rat 🐀 tried to eat a 🔥 burning ghee lamp which fell to the altar floor hoping it was some nice snack.
Once he realized 😳 it was hot fire he run higher and thither to get rid of that lamp from his mouth which got stuck in between his teeth.

As a result Krishna in the Altar accepted it as an offering of ghee lamp and libarated that rat and gave him a spiritual body.

So that's the power of Kartika months.
We offer ghee lamp to Krishna to attract His merciful glance upon us.
