I used to work as a Pastry Chef and we used cheap chocolate spread for our "Nutella" cakes, and we got away with for years until a customer returned her cake and said "this is not nutella, you used cheap chocolate spread" and we were SHOOK.

I've had some Nutella-like products from Turkey that were pretty good! Can't think of the name now. They have a LOT of good sweets and dessert products. And tea in SACKS. I'm fortunate to have a little store in my town that deals with such things. I'm getting a good impression OF Turkey, as a place to sit around and drink tea and eat halva or something. I think there are others, also there are just CHOCOLATE spreads from different countries. A Portuguese friend showed me to put butter on toasted sweet break, and then chocolate spread, which all melts a little. It's really something!
