I think the commercial you are talking about were real stories but told by Disney stars. Zendaya did one on adopting a sister from Eithipoa but thats not true.

Someone finally said it the moment I saw that commercial I knew it was bullshit because she said she not only fixed her dyslexia, but she fixed it by reading road signs which fly past the car super fast and is very difficult for most dyslexics to read

I have dyslexia, and she probably has dyslexia, lol. And I know the commercial made some people sad but I genuinely love accurate representations of dyslexia. Honestly it's kind of a weird lie. But, fun fact, English speakers are more prone to being diagnosed with dyslexia because of how our language is structured. So even if Spanish is her first language, is still very highly likely that she's dyslexic when it comes to the English language.

Eh, most people can learn two languages at the same time when young. The inability to do that could be caused by dyslexia.

My first lenguage is also spanish but never had difficult learning, It was very easy for me since I was a kid Maybe when you're a kid it's easier to learn another lenguage

As a trilingual person, I vouch that reading English is easier than speaking or understanding the spoken language.

I hated how they portrayed dyslexia in shake it up. It was like, oh no Cece doesn't say stupid things because she's dumb and has a low intelligence, she says stupid stuff and has a low intelligence because she's dyslexic! They did the same thing with Theo from the Cosby show. News flash, dyslexic people can be very intelligent and only making the dumb characters be dyslexic only causes insecurities and self doubt. And yes I'm speaking from experience.

I have dyslexia and a lot of my family don't know I have dyslexia they just think I was slow at catching up to reading.

Also on the show she’s failing math due to dyslexia… dyslexia is literally translated to trouble with words or language not math, there is another disability that is smaller to dyslexia but isn’t called dyslexia and people confuse it all the time, I personally have dyslexia and she may have dyslexia but then again she didn’t stand up for the fact that she allowed to play a character the misrepresented someone who was dyslexic

I knew it was bs because i also learned Spanish as my first language and still struggle with the English grammer because im translating my Spanish thoughts into English. As a chicano kid being the first child if immigrants and having to translate for my parents and having to do homework on my own i did struggle in school and had to be placed in another classroom to catch up with my vowels. I kept pronouncing them with Spanish accent. Disney exploited her for sure no wonder shes a nut job.

It could be both. Learning two languages as a child is pretty common and not too hard by itself, but I'm sure having dyslexia COMBINED with her learning two languages AND working a ton as a child star (she was working long before Disney even hired her) and not having extra time for school work and the general stress of child stardom on top of it made things extra hard for Bella.

I most agree, English can be inconsistent at times causing dyslexia to show up more appropriately. Its also more likely for learning disabilities to show up in pairs instead of only one but have dominant one, such as ADHD, which can make it more difficult to learn as well.

I learned how to speak Spanish first when I was little in my family and then went to school and that's where they spoke primarily English the thing is it's very easy to get dyslexia from learning Spanish first and then learning English because sometimes in the Spanish language what comes first in English is always at the end of a sentence in Spanish. There's a few other things that also help with this dyslexia thing but that's how I got diagnosed with dyslexia and being on the spectrum as well. The spectrum thing is a separate thing.

My dad has dyslexia. It is very common to need to drop a language to learn another because trying to know both is very hard. My father’s first language is also Spanish, he had to lose most of it to learn English because the dyslexia makes language comprehension hard. The reason why the process of learning to read for Bella is partially because she was learning English, but also because of language comprehension issues. Two things can be true simultaneously

English is by far not a difficult language to learn, the most difficult languages are mandarin, greek (not to start with latin and old-greek, which are so complex that it‘s impossible to speak it using the proper grammar) and arabic. English is actually the esiest to learn, because of it‘s mostly short words, it‘s many native speakers and the few grammatic rules.
