Truck driver of 12 years here with flatbed experience speaking here. Just a tip for securing a load with chains. Don't hook to the outside rail. Loop your hook inside those little boxes that connects the bed to the bump rail. Those are rated for chain use. The bump rails are not. Plus if someone sideswipes you the hooks won't come off and you lose the load.

Ain’t gonna lie, watching that beautiful Ash fall was bittersweet. Although, that’s gonna make some pretty boards. I unfortunately don’t have any ashes left because those damn ash borers. My property still has a BUNCH of healthy black walnut, oak, and a maple or two mixed in with a bunch of pines and spruces. I check on the walnut trees fairly regularly so if i spot disease or damage i can get it down before rot sets in and i can still make money on it.
