One thing i like in a single player is that it's there. You can just pick it up again after stopping but if the service of a multiplayer game ends. Its over.

There's a content creator I used to watch all the time. I believe it was ACG, but don't quote me on this. He said, you should be able to get a dollar for an hour of gameplay. If you spend $60-70 on a 40-50 hour game, the quality better be there, or there better be things to do on the side or something. If you can get at least 60+ hours into a game you spent 60 on. That game is well worth the purchase.
Though, I'm in the camp of, if you enjoyed it, what does it matter? TLOU wasn't 50 hours long, spent 60 on it, and the quality was amazing. Story, gameplay, everything. Spend your money how you want.

It took me 220 hours to finish Elden Ring in ng and ng+ with the dlc for the ng+. For 40 euros (45 dollars) for the base game and 30/40 for the dlc. It took me like, 8 months I think. This shit is worth it. And you can play it again for the rest of eternity because you have it. There are so many things that aren't worth it, but videogames? They're worth it (most of the times).

Ive been gaming for over 20 years now and single player games for me are priceless, i whill never forget the first time i booted FF7 on the psone and enjoyed every single moment of that game and many more after, and yeah i also enjoy for example some apex legends or league way back in the day and even played for a few years WoW.

The way I look at it, single player games give u story’s and characters you will remember forever (if it’s good). Meanwhile I put 300 hours into 2k and cod and I don’t remember anything besides the exact same thing every single game. To me it’s an experience you’ll remember vs mindlessly grinding towards something you have to do again in a year.
