In 1973 I was 17. My dad got me a 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6. Cowl Induction hood, Muncie M22 “Rock Crusher” 4-speed manual, Hurst Competition Plus shifter, posi rear. Had it tuned by Joel Rosen of Motion Performance in Baldwin Long Island. I’ve still got the Hot Rod, Car Craft, Car & Driver magazines that all tested and proclaimed the ‘70 Chevelle SS454 LS6 as the fastest 1/4 mile car of the 1960’-‘70’s muscle car era. No Ford or Chrysler ever beat the Chevelle SS454 LS6.
