I had to think about this for a bit. When I think about controlling my emotions, and when I teach my kids it's their responsibility to control their emtions, perhaps I am not being accurate in my verbage. In consideration of this, it would be more precise to say we need to control our response to our feelings.

You can actually control your emotions to an extent.
For instance, if you have negative thoughts but learn to change that negative thought to a positive thought, every time they pop up, it will change your emotional state for the better, thus causing you to be able to respond instead of react to negative stimuli. This will in turn have many positive chain reaction events, improving the overall wellbeing of a person. Its more of a mental exercise. We are what we tell ourselves we are.

Damn you're good. How did you know there was a blue and white tarantula in my 10h grade biology class that freaked me the eff out? J/K. For real though...very much on point. Someone hit my car on Thursday and I had a delayed reaction to it, even though I wasn't in the car at the time. So it reminded me that there's still trauma present from something from years ago that my physiology still has memory of somehow. It was also interesting to see how others observed my reaction to it. Love your lessons.

The strongest feeling I felt from someone was a bad guy with hate towards me wanting me injured or dead. I believe everyone can pick up on the chemicals of emotions and feel whats up. I heard from a fellow Native American (Iโm part Native American) that he knew a Native American who said anyone can learn and train themselves (everyone is born with it other then someone with a part of their brain missing or a disability that makes you not be able to) to pick up on emotions and body language and also awareness around you intuitively but you have go and work on it.
