My husband was a driver coast to coast. He asked a lady in a car with kids (after she whipped in front of him at a stoplight) in it if she would pull over in front of a train locomotive. When she said, “No.” He told her that’s basically what she did pulling over in front of a fully loaded semi.

Never, never pull into a truck, Bus, semis breaking zone. They need that space to stop. Also, there should be a solid paint line to indicate no changing lanes before the traffic light.

so...why didn't the car just stop behind the other car and then move to the right lane after the light turned green while the truck is slowly accelerating? That 2 seconds he/she was trying to save by being the first car at a red light probably cost them a few thousand dollars.

Judging from these comments, no one has driven a truck. You can stomped the brakes to the floor. The load behind you will push you further, therefore skidding. The car did cut too close to the truck therefore not leaving the truck driver enough room to brake.
