For me every time when someone adds race when it comes to something that’s talent based they lose me, it should’ve just been black thought and that’s it, adding the fact that he’s black hurts the argument ‘cause now one has to think “Is he better because you have to go with the black guy or is he just more talented”?

I think in regards to peak lyricism I'd give it to Eminem but I've never heard a wack bar from Black Thought so he wins it due to consistency.

As a fellow black man using Black Thought's racial ethnicity as a means to say he is a superior "lyricist" than Eminem is foolish and ignorant. Furthermore when deciding who is the best you should compare each rapper at their lyrical PEAK. That being said, they both excel in different areas. BLACK Thought is a stream of conciousness with literary and historical references but does that make him "better" where as Eminem excels in multi-syllable rhyme patterns, slant rhymes, literally bends words, coupled with great imagery, and storytelling. At their peak give me EMINEM. He is in a rare class of lyricist who at his peak maintained elite lyricism while also being accessible to a broader audience much like young Lupe Fiasco and Kendrick Lamar.

Kinge needs to stop with the indirect racism. It's NOT cool from your side of the fence either. You can't start loving off Alchemist then throw low-key racial remarks at white people a few weeks later.

P.S I am NOT an Eminem fan and haven't been for over a decade! Black Thought is on an entirely different level!

Eminem. We have to take songwriting into consideration. He has written songs that have left a huge mark in popular culture. Songs like Stan and Lose Yourself. BT has none of that. Speaking of Stan, its a level of creativity that BT hasnt reached.

BT is great at rhyming but so Eminem. In fact he's also been more creative at bending words and making them rhyme. Not to mention peak verses like Renegade.

BT is definitely better at wordplay.

Subject matter is a tie. BT has great social commentary but Eminem is great with personal lyrics and satire. Plus Em can be very funny in songs which isnt an easy fit. Oh and he crafts better choruses.

BT is deifnitely more consistent and doesnt have weak verses and songs.

Hence, I pick Em but at the very least its a close debate and definitely not an easy win for BT
