Dough Ingredients
1 cup of milk that's been warmed to 110 F
2 teaspoons of instant or active dry yeast
1/3 cup of sugar
1large eggs
3 tablespoons of unsalted butter that's been melted and cooled
2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3 cups of all-purpose flour
oil for frying
Glaze Ingredients:
2 cups of confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup of heavy cream, half-and-half or whole milk
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instruction
Whisk together warm water yeast and 3 tablespoon of sugar together. Set aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Add eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt to the bowl. Mix in 3 cups of flour and 1/ 4 cup of powder milk and mix
3. Add the remaining flour and beat on medium speed until the dough comes together or knead with hand
4. Knead the dough for 5 to 7 minutes.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it and let it rise in a warm place for 1.5 to 2 hours or until it's doubled in size.
6. Punch the air out of the dough and roll it out until it's 1/2 inch thick.
7. Cut out the doughnuts. You can also cut out doughnut holes.
8. Heat the oil in a large pot to 375 F.
9. Place 2 to 3 doughnuts in the pot and cook for 1 minute on each side.
10. Remove the doughnuts from the oil and place on a cooling rack.
11. Repeat with the remaining dough.
12. Whisk together the glaze ingredients and dip the warm doughnuts in the glaze.
