I've mulled it over.
Lack of a CRT is my problem.
I moved my entire game room to Asia and there was no way I was paying to ship the weight of a CRT ...not to mention the logistics of getting it there unbroken 😢

Put that gun down , and raise up a Sega Saturn / PS2 Fukkoban controller . It’s a Saturn pad just with an extra select button on it perfect for ps1 / ps2 arcade beat em ups and fighting games

Haha I just watched this clip and 30 minutes later I found an orange gun con 2 in a goodwill for $5. Thanks for getting my mind in the mode to recognize it immediately!
