I have come to believe that the 7.5fk's parent cartridge, if any, is the 7.62x39. while the critical dimensions are smaller & the brass thicker, the lineage is clearly there in the case design. How do you get AK performance from a handgun? By making it as close to one as you can. A 95gr .307" projectile launched with 50kpsi for 2000fps from a 6" barrel comes very close to the 123gr .311" projectile launched with 50kpsi to 2400 fps from a 20" barrel, likely outperforming some Dracos when the barrels are near equivalent. If you want Ak performance from a handgun, it makes sense to start there for the brass.
