The Game I paid the MOST $$$ to own! 😬

Neverwinter Nights was the first graphical MMORPG to come out and it was AOL exclusive on PC. Getting a copy today can cost a pretty penny, but I got mine back in 2016 and it was the MOST MONEY $$$ I ever paid for a single game.

Neverwinter Nights on AOL was an early online multiplayer game released in 1991, based on the popular Dungeons & Dragons franchise. It allowed players to create their own characters, join parties, and embark on quests in the virtual world of Neverwinter. The game featured top-down graphics and a text-based interface, which required players to type out commands and communicate with others through chat rooms. Despite its limited technical capabilities, Neverwinter Nights on AOL was a groundbreaking title that helped popularize online gaming and laid the foundation for more sophisticated MMORPGs that followed.

Game preservation sometimes ain't cheap. Anybody able to host an old AOL server so we can get a Neverwinter Nights game going?! 😉

I used to play this on AOL....back when the player limit was 50. When AOL went to unlimited time, before that you paid a per minute fee. There were playes spending hundreds of dollars a month playing. I was there the Last day, as they eventually shut it down...it was a cool community, but unlimited put too much pressure on game and while they increased player limit..it could only support a few hundred at most. I still have the maps printed out somewhere.
Ah the dial up days....

Your huge collection... And the most you paid for a single game is 270 bucks? Your skills in finding good deals are unbeatable!!!

Back in the day when game companies cared and put together nice boxes with a beautiful artwork and physical instructions, maybe posters or other gimmicks. 😍

So hard to believe that that is the most money you've paid for a game given the size of your collection 😵 That's amazing

I was born in 85' and in the mid tolate 90's one of my best friends and his dad always talked about this game like it was legendary I never got to play it but they did have a copy of Eye of the Beholder on SNES that we played profusely I've never seen another Eye of the Beholder cart so I'm guessing it was a rare bird back then

I really appreciate that you showcase old pc games. To me, it’s one thing that sets your channel apart. It was a big part of my childhood and there’s a lot of nastalgia there. So many of these games were so fun and their appeal was in the humor or the story or music because graphics wasn’t the main appeal then. So important to preserve and highlight this history.

Those gold boxes bring back some really nice memories. The artwork is fantastic. So fantastic that I actually wish that the gold part of the boxes didn't take up that much space.

I remember playing this but never for long. This was in AOL's 'pay by the minute' area and I kept thinking of the monstrous bill I'd be getting.

The most I've paid for a game was Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Saturn. It cost me $500 AUD in 2016 and is in really good condition.

You should make this a series, meaning, the most I paid for a console or the most I paid for an accessory etc.
