A friend of mine was in the army in Korea. He said that the memory that haunted him most was a North Korean soldier was charging their position. He was down to using his sidearm āa 1911ā He stated that he purposely shot him in the shoulder so he didnāt kill him. He said that soldier was treated and layed there suffering for 4 days before he died anyway. That haunted him more than anything else in the war.

Shoot to wound? Thatās some hippy stuff thereā¦. The minute you decide to pull a gun on someone is the moment you decide you may take a life.
Universal gun safety rule #2 -Never let the muzzle point at anything that you are not willing to destroy.

To summarize. You shoot to kill. Wounding is a possible outcome, but not your goal to make happen.

Never mind not having the opportunity, its the fact that wounding doesn't guarantee a stop. Stopping does. Shooting to wound should never be in the equation.

Also the leg contains the femoral artery; you don't want to get shot there.
