This time last year (October 2022) we were hiking this trail with a 2 month old (who is now 14 months old).

This trail is somewhat off the beaten path near Brevard, NC.
Drive about 10.5 miles on US 276 N into Pisgah National Forest and turn left onto FR 475B. Then its about 1.5 miles before you’ll see the gate for Forest Service Road. Parking is limited near (but never in front of) the gate. There’s a big wooden sign there too.

You can find four impressive waterfalls here!

Two are easily accessed along the forest service road/trail (Lower Log Hollow Falls and Logging Road Waterfall) and two require a little more effort to find (Discovery Falls and Upper Log Hollow Falls).

It’s about 2.6 miles out & back to see all 4 falls. (About 2 miles out & back if you just stick to the road and you’ll see 2 waterfalls.)

📍 Discovery Falls: Take a right off the road right before the first bridge. You’ll see the falls after about 0.2 miles on a narrow, steep trail.

📍 Lower Log Hollow Falls: You’ll see this one easily to the right of the second bridge. You can walk off the road and see it pretty close up.

📍 Upper Log Hollow Falls: Follow the trail up past the lower falls on the left side for about 0.1 miles.

📍 Logging Road Waterfall: This one is more of a trickle but you’ll see it on the right side after about a mile of walking on the road.

In this video, you’ll see upper & lower Log Hollow Falls. We skipped Discovery falls since we had the baby and it's the steepest hike and especially slippery when wet or when the trail is covered in leaves.
As you could probably guess by the names of the falls, this used to be a logging road back in the day but plenty of trees have grown back by now so it's nice and shady during the warmer months when the trees still have leaves.

It’s called Discovery, Log Hollow and Logging Road Falls on @alltrails
Note: This road is usually closed during colder mon
