Amen….🙏🏽. I was just reminded of the delusion that arrogance places on others. I saw a Tik-Tok of a presenter who told a story about a conversation that she had with another presenter at their doctor’s office. The woman telling the story is a “black” nurse and she was at her doctor’s office for an appointment and she saw a “white” woman, whom she knew, that’s also a Tik-Tok presenter as well.
After the two greeted each other they started a conversation on the use of a washcloth to take a bath. The “black” woman told the “white” woman that she has always used a washcloth and that she didn’t know or understand why some people didn’t use one. She continued by saying that maybe it was something that people in the North(USA) did that was different from what many in the South(USA) did. Well, the “white” woman continued by saying that she too grew up in the South(USA) and that she also had been taught to always use a washcloth to bath.
As the two women continued their conversation, they both noticed that another woman, in the office was paying attention to their conversation. This other woman, was an elderly “white” woman approximately 70-80 years old. As they continued their conversation the elderly “white” woman turned to the younger “white” woman and said, I know why she, pointing to the “black” woman, uses a washcloth but why do you use a washcloth? The elderly “white” woman continued by saying, that since she, the younger “white” woman, was “white” she didn’t have to use a washcloth or even take a bath everyday because her skin was PURE because she’s “white”. The elderly “white” woman continued by saying that since the “black” woman was “black” that her skin had IMPURITIES in it and that she HAD to use a washcloth and she HAD to take a bath everyday.
The younger “white” woman and the “black” woman both looked at each other SHOCKED at the ARROGANCE and STUPIDITY of the elderly “white” woman, who went to say that her mother and aunts had taught her that as a child and that she had also taught this same ARROGANCE and STUPIDITY to her own children and they to her grandchildren.
I say all of this to explain that PRIDE, ARROGANCE, STUPIDITY and DENIAL all play a HUGE part in racism and discrimination. Some people will simply REFUSE to accept the truth of anything that contradicts the STUPIDITY that a parent or loved one may have taught them as a child. Thus, they go on to be arrogant and stupid as well. At the end of the day, we all KNOW that if you don’t bath that you’re going to STINK and that doesn’t matter what color your skin is. We ALL smell at some point and we ALL need to bath, preferably with a WASHCLOTH. Worse of all, at some point this elderly woman SMELLED herself and even then, she apparently ignored the TRUTH of her own odor.
I’m sorry but I CAN’T make this stuff up….HILARIOUS!!!!
