Her name was Julia Butterfly Hill. Guards used to stand outside of the tree when people tried to give her supplies, trying to make her come down by restricting her food and water. (The trees name was Luna, and she got supplies from her community members/friends gave her food)

For anyone wondering, that woman was Julia Butterfly Hill, a 50 years old American activist, who lived in a giant 1500 years old redwood tree named Luna for 738 consecutive days from December 1997 to December 1999. She ended her revolutionary action after reaching an agreement with Pacific Lumber Company to spare the tree and a 200 foot buffer zone surrounding it.
