This is too accurate. 100% Facts, Jobs shouldn't be allowed to make false job openings.

There needs to be a fraud investigation and serious consequences for businesses that do this as well as people that can report it

Ohhhh, this is why the thrift store near me has had their "now hiring" sign up for like the last 10 years despite rarely hiring people.

Also posting ghost jobs creates an illusion that your company is growing, which should be legally classified as fraud

Iā€™m so tempted to share this with my mother. She has no idea how hard it is to find a job these days because she already has a full blown successful career. She essentially became job secure before all this horse shit with these ghost jobs that started to be a thing in the job market.

I felt this in my soul. I put out like 50 resumes, went to like 20 interviews, and only 2 of them hired me, and one of them Only lasted 3 days. The second one was half a year but they gave me barely any hours to work for the last 3 months I was there. So now I donā€™t have a job. Thank you America

This actually happened to me over the spring. 3 interviews, 2 months of communication, got an email ā€œweā€™ve decided to eliminate the positionā€. Real kick in the teeth.

I really felt the frustration in the guy's voice when he was tired of applying and interviewing for fake jobs. These companies are sick and need to go to prison for fraud.

As a person who is still looking for a job. I can confirm this is true

100% true. That's where the "nobody wants to work anymore" saying comes from.

I have had recruiters tell me "your resume is so impressive we didn't think you were real" and I still didnt get the job.

"So why wasn't I hired?"
"I just don't really like you"

Fun fact; you can actually sue a company for this. If you were given a reasonable expectation that you had the job and quit your current one only to be laid off/not hired, you can probably sue for any expenses that you lost during the process (especially things like lost wages and moving costs if it was a job that you had to move for)

this happened to me once, the company made me and a bunch of other desperate people go throught a long interviewing process only to tell us we didnt make it, then we found out it was their marketing scheme and they never untended to hire anyone, I cant believe the audacity that some of these companies have, they should getting jail time for this.

Heard a story of a company who hired 200 people, then laid them off, then rehired them, then laid them off again and hired them again, they did this 6 times and then reported that they had "hired 1200 people" to get a huge tax bonus, it was uncovered and they got fined for tax fraud (and went bankrupt from it) and the board who cooked up the idea got jail time.
