There is a bonfire in a hidden wall inside those buildings in the middle of the lava surrounded by a ton of dead T-rex. That should save you like 90 seconds

DS1 was great. My friends convinced me on my first playthrough I HAD to kill the Asylum Demon the first time I encountered him. SO i kept trying and did. You get his hammer for it. They didn't even know at the time it was possible. I was pretty proud. :')

There's a hidden bonfire that'll lessen the 2 minute run a bit.
It's in the giant lava pit, the second pillar downstairs facing the boss arena. That's a hidden wall with a bonfire in it

I remember, back when ds1 first came out, all the wild stuff. There was a skirt with more defense than heavy armor cause of a mistype, 4 armor became 44 armor. And the butterfly ring shield, copied the strength of your right hand weapon. Youd crystal buff a greatsword then spam ring shield skill. Now it only does about as much damage as a throwing knife. Greatshields and iron round shield could infinitely block skeleton wheelmen. What walled me were basilisks. I still have a screenshot of it on my old phone, they stop at half hp now when they keep cursing you, not the case then, they used to just keep cutting your hp every time. I had a character with 6 hp health bar stuck in the depths.
