I love explaining the “nothing box”, which is something a few psychologist have agreed that some people (mostly men) have, which is just a place in their brain where they go where it’s literally nothing. Nothing or some light, self-created amusement. And they just chill in the nothing box. So next time you ask “what are you thinking about?” and someone answers with an unhurried “nothin’”, you can be satisfied knowing they really were telling the truth. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Edit: anyone curious about this subject should look up either “wires and boxes theory”, which leads to the original theory and psychological studies, or for a more easy to understand breakdown, the book “waffles and spaghetti” was written by a Christian pastor and therapist who explains the theory with food metaphors. “Boxes and wires” is more technically correct, but “waffles and spaghetti” tends to stick in brains more easily. Be warned, a lot of both sources are very gender-specific. You’ll hear “men have boxes/waffles. Women have wires/spaghetti.” But as with most simplifications, it’s not really that simple. I prefer to think of it as “some people have box brains, some people have wire brains. Some people have a little of both.” It’s less a tool to classify people, and more of a tool to better understand each individual you meet! Does their mind operate with boxes or wires? ADHD tends to mean people have wire brains, but it can also be like boxes threaded together by strange wires. Or you can have a box brain but it’s much easier to move from one box to the other, or let the things in each box
