Your husband should go on the family socal media account to inform everyone that the gifts were for his daughter's future and he will not be giving it away to anyone. Also add " what kind of people demands a child's gifts for their own pleasure?".

There are plenty of cultures that pierce the baby ears it’s not cruel. Circumsicion is cruel. Them trying to steal from a baby outright is very wrong. They showed no interest so keep them far away from your kid as they are not good people.
