Also, I compared the ingredients of both oils as I have one from 2022 before they sold to P&G and they are the same.

Let me just say this, I truly believe that these claims about peoples hair falling out is due to bad hair care practices or having a specific allergy/ sensitivity to certain ingredients. Every hair line experiences claims like this, including mine. I believe the reason why this issue has exploded is because people do not trust Mielle because they sold which makes sense. But to be honest, a lot of false information is coming out about this line which I donā€™t like. Yā€™all know Iā€™m never afraid to call out a brand, but Iā€™m also never afraid to tell the truth. Please donā€™t dismiss a brand or throwaway products because of TikTok, do your own research on the backend and also look at your own experience.

Once they were no longer black-owned, I moved on. Historically when a small company is sold to a company such as P&G, quality versus profits becomes the primary concern which usually leads to lower quality/lower cost ingredients being used. Therefore, I erred on the side of caution and stopped purchasing Mielle products. But each person has to make their own decisions based on their knowledge and perspective. Good luck on our search for the best hair care product(s) for our hair.

I have been using their products for 2 years. My hair was thriving. Only in the last few months did my hair start to shed much more rapidly. I wasnā€™t more stressed, my diet was good, I was still drinking tons of water. So it was a huge shock. So I started switching back to some old school products from when I was younger, and that when my shedding started to lessen. And now Iā€™m back on my journey. I wasnā€™t aware of a formula change or them selling, just because I donā€™t pay attention to that stuff much.

Can you do a full month of Mielle challenge? I think that'll be a better test.

People were complaining about their hair falling out about a year or so ago also, Ithink it has just been happening on a greater scale now. It isnā€™t right to downplay thousands of peopleā€™s experiences by using the product once. Not everyone has poor hair care practices, I actually think there are now far more black women who DO know how to care for their hair and pay attention to the products theyā€™re using which makes it easier to pinpoint when they started having issues. I used the oil a few times and I definitely had excess shedding so I stopped.

Some people actually know and care for their hair properly, and after consistent use for a month or so, experienced hair loss. Perhaps a batch of the product is faulty, it happens across many markets. I saw some solid videos of people that had healthy hair and something occurred. I cant tolerate but only 1 product from Mielle. I feel for the people dealing with the hair loss, been there and it hits your self-esteem regardless to how it occurred.

I can only speak for myself and I have coily tight 4C hair & over the course of several months, yes I did lose a tremendous amount of hair. Versus me using Miche products and in only 4 weeks I can see a tremendous difference.

This controversy feels very reminiscent of Devacurl a few years back with people using the no-poo products or even olaplex. I go to a hair stylist for my trims and we discuss what types of products I should use and frequently. I agree with you. Also, I use the rosemary oil to soothe my scalp psoriasis in between washes and continue to buy bottles. Never have an issue but I only use a few drops for relief. Mielle probably needs an independent investigator to confirm to gain trust back.

Literally used these products the day before all this came out. Mine is still attached as well and thicker than ever. Used the whole bottle of oil and its still here. I agree with what you said. Thank you as always for being open and honest.

I stopped using their products a few yrs ago. I never cared for the green line, the pink was okay but I don't think my scalp liked it. It was the same issues for daughters too. Mielle is heavily fragranced too, and I don't have problems with fragrances. It was something about theirs that just was off for me.

I just had to big chop my hair because I was using mielle products especially the the rosemary mint oil. I never had a problem before until about 2 1/2 months ago my hair came out in clumps and my hair was shedding profusely ( hadnā€™t experienced that since I was getting relaxers ). A week ago I decided to cut my hair because it was uneven from the shedding and it falling out. I have been using nothing but mielle products but I decided to go back to kaleidoscope because thatā€™s when my hair felt the healthiest.

I used it faithful for about two years. In the past 7 months I have a lot of shedding and breaking off in the perimeter of my head. I started seeing comments about this about 4 months ago and really didnā€™t pay it any mind. I havenā€™t used it in a month and my hair is no longer shedding like it was while using these products. Formula has changed and Iā€™m no longer supporting this brand. Best of luck to those still using them.

Iā€™ve been using the rosemary mint deep conditioning masque consistently for 3 months. Also I bought them way before this controversy even started and just held onto them for a good month before I even used them after buying. Iā€™ll also admit I do make my own shampoo, I do hot oil treatments every wash day, and I use aloe for leave in conditioner. I havenā€™t had any shedding, and thereā€™s actually less breakage and my hair has gotten thicker. I think the real problem is people thinking we need to invest in the WHOLE hair care line. You donā€™t need to buy every product, just the ones youā€™ve discerned would work for your hai because not everything in the line is made the same. And definitely read each ingredient on the packaging, I bought the masque because I saw it had absolutely no fragrance/parfum listed which is rare. However I believe the sugar scalp scrub does have fragrance.

That rosemary oil did me wrong. One use will not. Use it exclusively for a month and get back with us..
