Aussis dont call it Ayres rock. We call it uluru. The name was reverted back decades ago. The only people who call it Ayres rock are the oldies and tourists

It isn’t known as ayers rock or Uluru rock. The name Ayers rock is considered offensive since it was named that after British colonisers ‘discovered’ it 🙄.
It is called Uluru.
It is sacred to indigenous people and features in the dreamtime stories.
The Dreaming are the legends of Australian indigenous people which mostly surround creation. These stories have been passed down verbally for untold numbers of generations. So many, that some scholars have even drawn distinct parallels between the creatures described in our legends and extinct specimens only found via fossils.
Uluru is very sacred to our people. It is truly beautiful and by all means, please visit. Take pictures and enjoy the experience. Please also try to learn a little about the cultures and beliefs of the Anangu people who own the ancestral land including Uluru. People who can show respect are always welcome when visiting Uluru.
People who would climb the rock or even take pieces of the rock as a ‘souvenir’ however? They need to realise that they are literally viewing a marvel of nature and standing on soil that is considered a vital cultural and religious site.
Uluru is a component of our cultural identity. Please come and maybe even learn about some of the cultural practices of the area.
Oh, and please bear in mind that there are areas around the base of the site that are also significant to the indigenous people. Please, please respect their boundaries!
We are talking about a group of people who have inhabited Australia for an estimated 60 000 years.
We lost so much of our culture and often our languages during the stolen generation.
Please, give us the respect of protecting sites such as Uluru which allow us to maintain our cultural identity
