I'm not sure how much AI Google uses to manage battery life on Pixels.
But from what I vaguely remember, their Adaptive Battery does that. Other than that, faster offline speech-to-text. That's about it.

I have no intention of upgrading because of AI. The primary reason I use Gemini is because Assistant stopped doing things on the phone and those things moved to Gemini.

As a guy who's been using cheap phones all his life, AI itself isn't particularly interesting as a feature mostly because you can get it through various apps anyway. It's not really gatekept unless you have an android phone that's running 6.0 or lower (correct me if I'm wrong, I think Android Studio usually has Nougat/7.0 as a baseline for app development) but sometimes even that can get bypassed depending on the developer.

Look, with Google Gemini AI is about data collection. Remember, Google is a huge advertising company first and foremost, and a mobile phone OEM next. Google wants to find out as much about us as it can and use our data for better advertising, where they make the bulk of their profits. What better way than for you to carry an AI powered assistant in your pocket every day, everywhere you go, obtaining your data and transmitting it to Google. That's what AI is about, that's it's purpose right now, but Google knows to make it work they have to sell you a little honey with it, like add me, best take, magic editor etc. so that people buy into AI and use it often.

This argument can be made about Pixel phones. The only features they have over any cell is software. It has NO hardware that any other cell can't do better.

Not at all. I only upgraded for its size and really most ai implemented are for very specific not common uses

Ai isnt for me if i have to pay i will change to another brand that doesn't have it i use my phone 4 calls txts music and movies and gaming that's it

Obviously, I can only speak for myself but, AI doesn't move the needle for me. Currently, the AI features that are available from most manufacturers are rudimentary. I'm certainly not going to base a smartphone purchase on it. Perhaps, in a few years after the technology develops it will become more of a priority. I use the OnePlus 12 as my daily driver. AI is coming with the new oxygen OS 15 update. That's fine but, I'm more concerned with the new themes.
