the game is running slowly afterwards, so I think it may be a faulty conversion of some kind
I'm not very sure of why but for some reason the status bar in particular depends a lot on very specific hardware timing that, if inaccurate, becomes unstable
some memory corruption also cause the status bar to become unstable and that's when everything breaks
