*Ingredients:*
1/4 cup rice
1/2 cup split yellow moong dal (lentils)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder (optional, adjust to taste)
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp warm spices (garam masala)
1 pinch dry mango powder
4 cups water
3-4 curry leaves
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
1. Wash the rice and moong dal together under running water until the water runs clear
2. Add the drained rice and dal to the cooker. Mix well.
3. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder (if using), and salt, water spices, dry mango powder. Mix well.
4. Add 4 cups of water and stir everything together. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on high flame till 1 whistle comes then turn the flame to medium for 5 minutes more.
5. Once the pressure releases naturally, open the cooker carefully. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot Dal Khichdi with yogurt, pickle, or salad
