Heard a theory once, that the consorts are more of a bodyguard/general to their gods and that the most important trait of a consort is to loyally fight for their god and the golden order. That’s why every Eldenlord so far was a warrior and warlord. Radahn is peak-marriage-material if that theory is right. Miquella just picked the most competent candidate to cement his new position as a god. Idk if this is confirmed in the game though.

Miquella is the embodiment of failure.
• He failed to save either Godwyn or Malenia through fundamentalism.
• His needles were doomed to failure, with the missing necessary component (Time) being forever out of his reach.
• He underestimated Mohg's fervor which killed his Heiligtree and prevented his divine death appropriate to trigger the eclipse plan.
• He assumed Malenia would be able to beat Radahn, granting Radahn the warrior's death he sought... But even her aeonia bloom wasn't enough.
• He wanted to make a better world, free from the mistakes of his motherfather... By doing the exact same thing Marika did in the first place.
Miquella is just constant fails.

Im gonna be honest. I played every Fromsoft game and I’m a HUGE fan of the lore of all the games. Elden Ring is my favorite game ever and I love the dlc.
But this is the first time I didn’t like the lore and story outcome for smth they made.
Still feel like the dlc ending wasn’t good and fulfilling and these 2 characters were misused heavily. Even the mod is better.
Just didn’t seem right to end this game on this note idk.

In my opinion it’s pretty easy to understand what happened. Radahn chose not to honor his part of the vow, so miquella sent Malenia to kill him for his soul, which he can control, and she obviously failed so it wasn’t until we killed him and mohg that miquella can put his soul into mohg’s body, and is able to manipulate it like a puppet almost. This is definitely what I think happened. And if anybody believes radahn did honor his part, how does that make sense? Why would malenia need to kill radahn and why would he fight back and leave the fight alive?

I remember people wondering why Radahn was required for the dlc. Gotta say I did not see promised consort of Miquella being why.
