It was the only logical thing to do, taking into account that “North Macedonia” was literally stealing one of the most glorious phases of Hellenic history 🇬🇷 by saying it was their own all along, while in reality their people are Slavs who only arrived in the region literally centuries after the Greek kingdom of Macedonia 🇬🇷 existed and thrived. "Greece is a bit of an asshole" is only a statement someone without a slight idea of politics could make.
It's not just a matter of "name". It's a matter of cultural appropriation and possibly rhetorics of culturally Greek land claim. This is a serious reason to block somebody out of a political alliance.

It’s actually really smart of Greece, this is how you prevent civil unrest and war about territory. I am Albanian and historically speaking we are not best buddies with Greece, but they are right with this. The modern “north Macedonia” is 1/4-1/3 ethnic Albanians and the rest is a Slavic mix of them the majority beeing Bulgarians. They have nothing to do with the Macedonian empire. Slavic people came to the Balkans 900 AD.

I live in North Macedonia and it was not just the name, our country was claiming the greek history and culture and the nationalistic government was brainwashing the people altering the history. We have nothing to do with the ancient greek history of some ancient kingdom, we are Slavs and we speek Slavic. So, although bit aggressive Greece had the right to be angry.

This video may come across as anti-Greece, but that wasn’t my intention! 🙏. In America, being an asshole, is not always seen as a bad thing. In fact, many people here, respect so called assholes, such as Donald Trump, because they stand up for what they believe in and do not compromise. However I understand that this wording could be misconstrued as negative. I apologize for that. I simply thought this situation was funny. How only changing a name was needed in order to admit North Macedonia join EU and NATO. I’m not talking about erasing Greek history, or Alexander the Great, or any of that stuff. I fully understand the anger associated with those subjects. For this particular video I Just simply thought it was funny that changing the name of the country was the final straw to allow them to join the these organizations! Please do not think I was trying to incite hatred, I was just making a joke. I love Greece and Greek history! (Also the food is good as well, please understand I am NOT your enemy
