Thyroid disorders are quite common in people all across the world. The thyroid is a small gland in the throat which secretes hormones. Hormones secreted by the thyroid gland are responsible for the body's metabolism, temperature and growth. There are basically two kinds of thyroid disorders: hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. While the former is characterized by the thyroid gland being unable to produce enough thyroid hormones, the latter occurs as a result of the thyroid gland releasing too much hormones. Yoga asanas are considered to be an effective natural remedy for dealing with thyroid disorders. While it may not be able to cure the condition instantly, it can help in keeping the glands healthy and regulate metabolism, thereby preventing any further complications. In this video I have Shared some effective yogasanas to keep the thyroid gland healthy.
1.Sarvangasana
Shoulderstand is often the first pose that’s suggested to treat the thyroid. Since it’s an inversion, it stimulates blood flow to the glands in the upper body. This has a positive effect on the efficiency of the thyroid. Additionally, the way our chin is tucked into the chest in this position is believed to benefit thyroid function.
2.Ustrasana
The strong neck extension in camel pose is said to stimulate the thyroid gland and increase circulation to this area.
3.Halasana
Halasana, also known as the plough pose, helps in the proper functioning of the thyroid gland by compressing the area of the neck and thyroid. In this asana, we need to lie down flat on our back and try to bring legs over the head.
